TEACHER RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Actor Therapy’s one-of-a-kind, immersive training program for Educators.
Actor Therapy’s Teacher Residency Program is for educators seeking guidance and mentorship from NYC’s top Musical Theatre teaching artists. Working hand-in-hand with AT’s renowned faculty during our Summer Intensive, our Resident Teachers will be nurtured by our incredible faculty as arts educators, utilizing our revolutionary training format.
Infused with AT’s signature approach to individuality, cultivating students’ inner artist, and navigating this constantly evolving industry, members of the Teacher Residency Program will be challenged to grow as both teacher and student. You’ll gain valuable insight into life as an NYC-based artist in 2023, hear the latest from top industry professionals, and develop fresh tools and on-the-pulse techniques for your theatrical teaching arsenal.
The Teacher Residency Program runs for five days, Monday-Friday, with core classes between 12:30pm – 4:30pm, and additional meetings and sessions in the hours before and after.
TUITION - $1199.00 USD
During the program, Resident Teachers will:
Attend all ACTOR THERAPY classes (Lindsay Mendez and RSO’s revolutionary musical theatre workshop, focused on song interpretation, selecting the right “cuts” for auditions, and seeing every actor as an individual to unlock the artist within). You’ll sit behind the table with AT faculty (including RSO), gaining unique insight into the feedback process, and honing your “eye” for audition material and technique.
Audit at least TWO additional summer intensive classes (dance, acting, Art & Biz, Master Classes, and more). Receive mentorship and feedback from the teachers of your chosen classes.
Attend TWO one-on-one meetings with AT founder Ryan Scott Oliver to answer all your questions about the audition scene in NYC, AT’s approach to training, and anything else you’d like.
Prepare and execute at least one hands-on teaching experience (1-2 hours, masterclass-style) with current AT students and alum. This teaching experience can be a master class or lecture-based format, and will be co-produced with you by Actor Therapy.
Also included:
Headshots with renowned NYC photographer MurphyMade.
A Written Evaluation by your AT mentors.
