Do you feel like an audition machine, like you’ve forgotten what it means to be an actor in a show?
Or are you nailing your auditions, but flunking the callback sides?
Or maybe you just want to get back to (acting) basics?
That’s why we’ve created AT STUDIO.
This class is a combination of three of our beloved acting classes:
MONOLOGUES, COLD READS, AND SIDES: Workshop monologues and/or sides you’ve been given for an upcoming audition, material you’ve been given in the past that you want to work on and improve, or something you’re looking to use as an audition piece. OR practice for those harrowing Cold-Read moments (when they ask you to read something new on the spot) by bringing in sides you haven’t worked before to work through them from scratch with the faculty (they can also assign you something brand new) so you’ll know exactly what to do when the time comes!
SCENE STUDY: pair up with another student to work on material from a play or musical. Learn how to read, research, and interpret a role/play from scratch and fine-tune the art of acting with a scene partner.
DREAM ROLES. Select a role from the musical theatre or dramatic canon and work on the material in class, with feedback designed to help you get ready to audition (and book) that job. We can help you find a role that is perfect for you, if you’re not sure where to start. Great for material you’re hoping to be seen for in the future and get a head start on before getting into that audition room!
Each student designs their desired curriculum with guidance and direction from our faculty.
